Welcome on board Katie - DA's new intern

Currently in her second year of a Masters in Journalism Katie has joined us as an intern. Katie's background is in fine arts, primarily photography and film which she studied at COFA in Paddington.

She currently works as a writer for online publications writing about fashion, art, entertainment and pets. When she’s not busy with uni or work you’ll find Katie taking photos which she often exhibits in galleries across Sydney, or at the beach with her husband Clinton and their two dogs Violet and Mr.Darcy. She is an avid animal lover with a soft spot for dogs.

Addictions include chocolate, coffee, art, fashion, dancing and some other things she prefers not to mention (a girl has to have her secrets).

A bit about our team: Anthony Trinidad - Features Contributor

Sydney born and bred Anthony doesn’t know where he finds the time to indulge in the best of what this great city has to offer, as he juggles his day job in television research at a leading commercial network with attending gigs and events, seeing people and eating good food. Living in close proximity to the city means he really has no excuse to not go out, but he often makes these excuses anyway.

Anthony has completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Media Practice, both at Sydney University and has written for inthemix, FasterLouder and Pulse Radio. He writes predominantly on music, however, DA has given him a chance to broaden his lifestyle horizons and experience things he’d never even knew existed. 2009 will hopefully bring fame and fortune his way, although he’d settle for a promotion, a bit of travel and good times spent with family and friends. He’s addicted to hip hop and breakbeat and likes to listen to his iPod loud so others can appreciate good tunes. And he also likes to collect toys and talk in acronyms. Oh, your hair looks nice today.

A bit about our team: Hayley Aldrich - Contributor

A native Sydneysider, Hayley recently completed a double degree of Bachelor of Communications (Writing and Cultural Studies) combined with Bachelor of International Studies, majoring in French at the University of Technology, Sydney. A year long stint living and studying in France ignited the travel bug within and confirmed her passion for other cultures and experiences, especially anything Francophone.

Whilst aspiring to write the next Pride and Prejudice, Hayley is kept busy by writing bits and pieces for a variety of different mediums, focusing primarily on event listings for Daily Addict. She has an unhealthy addiction to Coca-Cola and Macaroni and Cheese, only one of which she can handle attempting to kick this month.

About our team: Tara Grimshaw - Contributor and Guest Editor

Tara’s childhood dream was to become She-Ra, Princess of Power, but the closest she got to being a Master of the Universe was to do Masters in Journalism at UTS. This hangs on the wall next to a Bachelor in Arts (Communication) from Wollongong University.

Producing and presenting radio and television (including ABC Local Radio and Country Matters on Southern Cross Ten) has often taken her away from her hometown. This sharpened her desire for anything that you can only get in Sydney… like surf beaches, tea shops and music festivals. Those close to Tara know that the only way to get her to attend an outing is to entice her with food. She’s currently plotting how to afford to live alone and listening to the sounds of muffled laughter through a snorkel.

About our team: Carrie Choo - Founder & Chief Executive Addict

Life hasn’t been the same for Carrie since she founded Daily Addict at the beginning of 2008.  Inspired by years of searching out “what’s cool to experience” she’s put her love of writing, 10 years in PR and a fascination about people to good use. Her constant quest for living and learning means she has an impressive knowledge on a lot of things but no expertise in just one; except for how to lift the lid on the best experiences Sydney has to offer.

She’s travelled extensively to big cities to shop, live, love and learn, and now lives in Killara with her partner Michael, his Great Dane Mimi and a food fanatic Labrador called Indy. Carrie received her Bachelor of Business degree from UTS. She both sponsors and suffers from addictions to do with caffeine and internet connections, fashion, French films, Adriano Zumbo cakes, playing poker and exploring the www.
