We love summer as much as the next person and we too dream about the day the mercury rises and our pedicures see the daylight. And yes, we also know that it was the Spring/Summer collection being shown by David Jones yesterday. However, the cut-out full piece swimsuits from Jets and the skimpy floral bikinis by Zimmerman that went down the catwalk, frankly, scared the socks off us! My legs are a long way away from swimsuit time.

The gorgeous trans-seasonal garments from Willow, however, have got our addiction levels running dangerously high. Not only was the beautiful metallic detailing and hardware glamorously edgy, you also won’t freeze over before summer arrives. Willow, we’re addicted. 

And perhaps just as important as the clothes: the food. Guests ate egg and olive sandwiches, herb scones with goats cheese and smoked salmon, sage and gruyere cheese toasted sandwiches and tutti frutti macaroons. On the austere, alcohol-free drinks menu was coffee, herbal tea, blood orange juice and lots of water with lemon. 

Our insider tells us that waiters circulated with the canapés for a painstaking 30 minutes without a bite… looks like we’re not the only ones terrified by impending summer swimsuits.
