Wired for the weekend

Yes, we’ve counted down the hours ‘til the weekend… and the minutes… and the seconds. As usual, the DA team will be out and about this weekend and, according to the weatherman, the sun will be shining. A miracle!

Where will we be?

Rachel? I'll be enjoying tapas and churros at Darlinghurst's Hernandez Cafe Restaurant before running over the Club 77 to see melancholic indie rockers Ghostwood perform. Mmm do I smell Sangria already?

Carrie?  Having a peek at new meditteranean restaurant Alira, and a visit to Liverpool Street Gallery to see Guy Peppin’s new exhibition – he paints layers on canvas, then scratches and writes love letters into them, then shreds the whole canvas and collages them back together. Also celebrating at a home with a birthday party.

Hayley? I'll be having a quiet few drinks at my local tavern, before taking advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktails at Kuletos Cocktail Bar, Newtown.

Tell us, what are you up to this weekend?

All aboard the blog train

Cast your eyes back here for more regular sneak peeks into the DA life; the perks and the quirks of our job, our likes and dislikes, where the cameras will be this weekend, our current addictions, the story behind the story and much, much more.

Sitting in the driver’s seat is our newest features contributor, Rachel Olding. She’s a young writer who has involved herself in many online projects since graduating with a B.A. (Media & Communications) from the University of Sydney. She’s a self-confessed blog addict and loves the personal style and interaction that blogs allow between readers and writers.

She’s got her own Sydney-based music and culture blog, Blouse Sydney, and has several more in the (very long) pipeline. If time permitted, these blogs would be a reality and she’d be spending a lot more time drinking cocktails, eating haloumi and tending to her pet rabbit, Cornelius.
